Shoulders and torsos are always weird. Especially when they're at even weirder angles. I think I did okay with this one - I'm certainly not unhappy with it. I especially like the way the arm frames the face, although I had to work with it a lot to make sure it didn't look weird when obscuring certain details or landmarks.
Almost all of these character designs were made prior to this project, but for today I actually did a few prior sketches and made a new one. It was fun! Because I was strapped for time it wasn't the most complex thing in the world, but it definitely allowed for full creative control in terms of making a design best suited for the composition I already had in mind. I hope it's obvious by now that I like long labcoats and long ribbons and if I can make it dangly, I'm shoving it into a design.
