This is one of the few artworks where I skipped the lineart stage entirely and just cleaned up the sketch. Whenever that happens I tell myself it's out of laziness, but in truth both methods probably take the same amount of time and effort. The sketchiness really shows with the hands, and I'll leave it up to you to decide whether that's for the better or for the worse.
Profiles and odd angles are my weakness, so there's a lot of them in this month as I attempt to remedy them and fill in my weak spots. I think I did okay - that side braid took a lot of wrangling - but I really shot myself in the foot with the lower hand. I was going for an angle slightly above the subject, but the hand made it look like the viewer was at eye level instead. It's not a bad hand by any means, it's just the wrong hand, and without it today's work would have been almost perfect. I'm happy enough with the rest of it to still be happy at the end of the day, but I'm glaring daggers at the hand.
