Before conceptualizing this character design, I could count the amount of times I'd drawn a bare chest on one hand. Part of the reason why I even designed this character was to give myself more practice. It doesn't look the best, but it doesn't look the worst either. I don't know if I'd give myself an A on the anatomy, but I'd like to think it's at least a passing grade.

The anatomy wasn't even the biggest struggle, it was that blasted hat. Hats are hard enough, but trying to draw them from funny angles is even worse. I know I give myself challenges like these so I can learn from them and improve my skills, but sketching and erasing and resketching this one made me really question where I draw the line at "good enough." I think here is okay.

If I had another day to work on this I'd at least make the lighting consistent in its origin. It's bouncing around everywhere in this one.
